Our Forests
Stimson owns and manages over 600,000 acres of forest land in the Western United States. Numerous private woodland owners have sold their properties to us because of our dedication to responsible and sustainable forest management, emphasizing ethical land stewardship. Forest management at Stimson involves the balanced integration of cultivating, nurturing, and harvesting trees for valuable products, with a commitment to soil, air, water quality, and wildlife and fish habitat conservation.
To meet our commitments, we support and adhere to the following:
- The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) program.
- State forest management regulations which include reforestation, erosion control, water quality, and wildlife protection.
- Scientifically proven working forest practices based on a 45-year life cycle.
- Stimson forestry principles that guide our day-to-day forest management operations.
Oregon Forests
Forever
Stimson is proud to participate in the Oregon Forests Forever project which celebrates our forests’ economic, recreational, and environmental benefits. Oregon Forests Forever is a project of the Oregon Sustainable Resources Alliance, which includes the Oregon Forest & Industries Council and other individuals, organizations, and businesses that care about protecting Oregon’s environment and rural communities.
