Sustainable Forestry Initiative®
We produce quality wood products while protecting forest resources like fish, wildlife, clean air, and clean water for present and future generations. We are committed to SFI®.
About SFI®
SFI® promotes responsible forest management. It encompasses environmental, social, and economic considerations to ensure that forests are managed sustainably for the long term. This approach balances conservation with economic viability so that forests remain healthy and productive for generations to come. Landowners and companies must meet specific requirements to comply with the program.
Established in 1994, SFI® has accredited more than 280 million acres of forestland and is steadily expanding. Despite being among the largest sustainable forestry and certification initiatives globally, the program emphasizes the significance of acknowledging other comparable systems. SFI® has a mutual recognition pact with the American Tree Farm System®, facilitating outreach to non-industrial private landowners.
Stimson follows the Forestry Management Standard.
Responsible and Sustainable Forestry
The SFI® program provides foresters, landowners, logging professionals, wood and paper producers, users, and sellers a means of demonstrating responsible and sustainable forestry while maintaining a viable and productive business. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that forest resources utilized today are done so in a manner that is not only efficient economically, socially acceptable, and environmentally responsible, but also sustainable for future generations to use and enjoy. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® is based on responsible environmental practices and sound business practices that can benefit all stakeholders, even stakeholders not yet born.
