Our forest land is one of our most valuable assets. At Stimson, we are committed to producing wood products that people need today while protecting forest resources for this and future generations.
Our commitment to responsible, sustainable forest management involves practicing a land stewardship ethic that integrates the growing, nurturing, and harvesting of trees for useful products with the conservation of soil, air and water quality, and wildlife and fish habitat.
To meet this commitment, we support and adhere to:
- The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) program.
- State regulations that guide forest management activities such as reforestation, erosion control, and water quality and wildlife protection.
- Our scientifically proven 45-year life cycle of forestry practices.
- Our own set of forestry principles that guide our day-to-day forest management operations.
OREGON FORESTS FOREVER.
Stimson is proud to participate in the Oregon Forests Forever project that celebrates the economic, recreational and environmental benefits of our forests. Oregon Forests Forever is a project of the Oregon Sustainable Resources Alliance. The Alliance includes the Oregon Forest & Industries Council and other individuals, organizations and businesses that care about protecting Oregon’s environment and rural communities.
